Peace is a Woman's Job:
The Journey of Jeannette Rankin
Written and Performed by Allyson Adams
Allyson Adams evokes both tears and laughter as she weaves this inspiring tale with her heartfelt portrayal of this remarkable woman. In her one-woman-show, Ms. Adams skillfully uses the magic of theatre to bring history alive. Period costumes, original backdrops, antique props and stirring music enhance this illuminating journey.
Imagine your venue being transformed into a Montana political rally, the halls of Congress on the verge of WWI & WWII, a Georgia farm, Gandhi’s India and the streets of America during a Vietnam War protest.
Peace is a Woman’s Job promises to take you on a historical voyage that will entertain, educate and pass on an empowering vision that is relevant to the world of today.

“Moment of Peace, the Journey of Jeannette Rankin” should be required viewing for all students- not just those in government or history classes. The message is cross-curricular: follow your conscience, even though other opinions stand in the way. Allyson Adams presentation and discussion with students about what they can do to make the world a more peaceful place will do more than entertain and inform-it will change lives.”
